New Advances in Business Communication

New techniques are always being used by businesses worldwide for expansions, and newer is always welcomed no matter the circumstances. Business meetings are held virtually, using video conferencing, instant messaging or telephone conferences. The Internet and the introduction of video conferencing through computer applications has made it possible for businesses to cut down on the costs of airplane flights, long-distance telephone charges and other expenses that have been eliminated by the technological communication advances. This also means that business men and women do not have to travel as much, leading to a much improved job satisfaction rate.

Advanced technology has also introduced the need for employees at every level to learn how to use these electronic devices in business and how they differ from personal use. Companies that use advanced communication, like texting and email, need to make sure their employees understand how to use proper business techniques and terminology when communicating with associates. There are certain tones and inflections to words that cannot be heard when texting or emailing. It is important that business terms are used and that the tone of the words is both professional and clear.

Communication should never be confusing or wordy. It is best to keep the business conversations to the point and clear. When using email, signatures should be short, and should only express the professional aspect of the sender. Texting is not often used for business meetings. It is a good way to get instant information to an associate but is not a good atmosphere for any kind of negotiations or plan implementation. This kind of business should be conducted on a face to face level, either in person, which can be costly depending on the location of the people, or via video conferencing. Video conferencing can be accessed through any computer with an Internet connection, which makes it very convenient.

“Think And Grow Rich” A Crock of Hooey?

That makes me laugh! Of course it isn’t a crock of hooey. I have made Napoleon Hill’s “Think And Grow Rich” a focus of study over the past several weeks. I am sure you are aware that I am seriously pro “law-of-attraction.” The information in this book sets very comfortably with my way of thinking.

If you like coming away from a good book feeling edified and changed forever for the better I recommend reading this book that is the effort of a brilliant man who dedicated his life to gathering and compiling information about applying your mind to your actions to the benefit of not only your business but your life.

He is an excellent illustrator of the laws of thought and generating relationships.

I have to say that it is the beginning of “Think and Grow Rich” that grabs me and keeps me reading…every time I read it.

I just love the story about the man who decided that he wanted to mine gold. He staked a claim and got busy and FAILED! The story isn’t ABOUT the failure though, it is about what he learned from that failure and how he applied what he learned to his life and how that facilitated his great success in the insurance industry.

The fact that he figured out how to learn from his big mistakes is huge enough, but the most inspiring part to me was the ultimate advice of: “Go to an expert if you don’t know what you’re doing.”

It just isn’t a really great idea to go into a project when you are an amateur and expect to be successful on your own. Ask and expert. Observe a Master. Apprentice under someone who has already been through the learning curve and come out on top.

Seven Ways to Find Great Blogging Topics

Many people start blogging without no idea as to what blogging topics they want to write about. That’s perfectly alright. As the saying goes, spontaneity is the spice of life? Or was that variety? Something like that.

Inevitably when that first rush of creativity ebbs away, bloggers find their muses abandoning them on a dry but surprisingly crowded island called Writer’s Blocktopia. Here are a few ways to flag down the rescue ship of inspiration and come up with some great blogging topics:

* Look over the blogging topics you have already covered and approach them from a different angle. This is what professional writers do. They take a topic that has been flogged within an inch of its life and look for a new whip to beat it with. So if you have been writing about how politicians are driving their constituents crazy with their antics on Capitol Hill, you could flip it around and talk about how the people are driving the politicians crazy.

* Sign up for social media sites like Twitter, Digg, and Facebook. People post links to all types of content they find on the web which provide an almost bottomless well of hot blogging topics. Another option is to visit meme and quiz sites like BlogThings and Know Your Meme that provide databases of quizzes and memes you can participate in.

* Although forums are not as popular as they used to be, they are still a great place to find great blogging topics, particularly if you are writing on a niche subject. The trick is to find an active forum in your niche with lots of diversity. With all of the opinions flying around, you will certainly find something to blog about.
