Launching An International Rewards Programme? – Top Tips

Globalisation is essentially the unification of economies by the removal of barriers that are not conducive to international trade. Societies, cultures and trade has also become increasingly integrated through technological advancements in communication and transportation. This increased economic globalisation and relentless rise in international trade has created an increased need for international reward and recognition programmes. Multi-country reward schemes have a specific set of challenges that need to be considered and addressed to ensure a successful programme.

1. Ensure that rewards are issued in local languages; multi-language functionality can be the most valuable feature of a global rewards programme. However make sure it is accurate, errors in translations can be viewed very negatively.

2. Make sure you cater for countries that have more than one national language e.g. Canada has Canadian French and American English as national languages. To ignore one is to isolate your target audience.

3. If possible ensure that any rewards dispatched are denominated in the local currency to maximise the impact of the rewards e.g. Recipients in France should receive rewards denominated in Euros and recipients and Denmark should receive rewards in Danish Kroner etc.

4. Different cultures are motivated by different rewards. A local reward offering which is desirable in each country participating is required. Try to incorporate as many of the following reward types to ensure demographics and cultural differences is not a factor in your recognition programme;

Gift Vouchers & E-certificates Virtual & Gift Cards Closed & Open Loop Cards Experience Vouchers

5. The same reward value in one country may have a completely different value in another, so take this into account. Equity between the different countries involved in the scheme is essential.

6. Ensure that full customer support and after care services are available internationally. Considerations here relate to differences in time zones and languages.

Millionaire Mindset: Cedrick Harris and Todd Falcone Have It

Millionaire Mindset: A Top 10 Takeaway

This past Thursday night Todd Falcone had a one hour call about his top 10 ‘takeaway’s’ he received by being the Emcee at the NESII Event; one of those takeaways was the Millionaire Mindset and this takeaway resonated with me when he talked about it because it’s the key to why he’s still in the business 22 years later.

The Millionaire Mindset is the key to why he’s approachable, why he’s never stopped learning, why he keeps working on himself and his brand to create more value each and every day and why he always asks, “What do you want me to cover so that you can learn and become a success? What is it you want to know?” As a bonus to those who attended NESII Todd gave away his LBB of Scripts – something I’ve wanted for quite some time now and I’m reading it diligently – a valuable resource to create a valuable business.

Todd Falcone talks about a Millionaire Mindset on his Monday night calls and has decidedly coupled his efforts with another millionaire mindset Mrs. Susan Sly. But, that’s another story for another blog post.

I want to tell you about an experience I had with this millionaire mindset: Cedrick Harris.

A Great Example of a Millionaire Mindset: Cedrick Harris

A Millionaire Mindset is what you have when you show up at conferences, summits, events and speaking engagements and YOU’RE NOT SPEAKING! Millionaires were all over the No Excuses SummitII; walking around, mingling and having valuable conversations with the likes of people like you and me. They were connecting and networking and amazingly enough LEARNING. Because a Millionaire Mindset doesn’t start and stop on the stage it keeps working 24/7.

DNS Load Balancing

Load balancing is a computer technology for distributing information requests across multiple resources. For example, multiple connections to a website or host record may be serviced by distribution of the requests to multiple servers containing the same web content, but located at different IP addresses. Each time a request is made for connection to the domain name, the authoritative name server for the domain sends all IP addresses associated with the name back to the client or requester.

Management is accomplished in what is called a “round robin” fashion. This means that the authoritative name server changes the order of the IP contained in the response to the client, randomizing the order or placing the addresses into a sequential order. A client normally connects to the first address on the list, and so by reorganizing the list, the server ensures that requests for access to the domain name are directed to multiple end servers. In this scheme, IP addresses are handed out in sequential order, meaning that the first client request gets the first IP record, the second request the second record, and so on throughout the list. This is a simple method to implement, but in some cases it is deficient for various reasons. Clients do manage connections by shifting from an attempted connection with a non-responsive resource to the next available resource so that generally speaking a connection will ultimately succeed.

How To Start Blogging: 7 Steps To Starting A Blog

So, you want to create your own online space but don’t know how to start blogging? With all the scripts and technology today, it’s easier than you think! Here are 7 steps to starting a blog that will get you going:

1. Decide What You Want Your Blog To Be About

The first thing you need to decide is what you will blog about. Do you want a general blog about your rants and raves? A blog about training your dog? A blog about your self-sustaining garden? Deciding on your topic is key because you will need to do some keyword research in order to find some good phrases to target as well as a good domain name.

2. To Host Or Not To Host

If you don’t have any money for starting a blog, then you can use free services like Blogger, free WordPress, Tumblr, Weebly or many of the other free platform. I don’t recommend this, however because at any time these services can remove your blog and all your hard work will be for nothing. The best route to take, especially if you plan to make money from your blog someday is to buy your own domain name and get your own hosting.

3. Get Your Domain Name

You want to choose a domain name that is relevant to your topic. Yes, I know that you’ve probably heard to get an “exact match” domain name based on a keyword phrase that you’ve decided is worthy of such, but they really aren’t as advantageous as they used to be so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s much more important to find one that describes the general topic of your blog.
